Traffic stop ends in drug arrest

A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Minden man when Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies discovered what appeared to be cocaine.

Kenneth Green, 50, of N. Talton Street, was arrested for possession of a Schedule II CDS (cocaine). According to the police report, Deputies Marshall Merritt and John Lewis Jr. initiated a traffic stop on W. Roosevelt for a traffic violation.

During a pat down for officer’s safety, deputies discovered a white powder substance on the ground partially underneath Green’s foot. Reports indicate the substance field-tested positive for cocaine.

Deputies placed him under arrest and Green later admitted to possession of the substance and threw it down.
Green was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for booking.
