Two teens busted for theft from Pine Hills

by Minden Press-Herald

A Sibley woman was arrested Friday after she and a juvenile were caught sleeping in a Heflin residence while the owner was in jail.

Police found Carmen Gray, 17, asleep with a 16-year-old male at the residence on Bistineau Line Road Friday morning.

The overseer of the property told officers the owner is in jail and that Gray and her associate had no permission to be there.

The two were found to be in possession of a stolen iPad that was reported to Minden police from Pine Hills Country Club in Minden. Deputies also recovered alcohol and controlled dangerous substances at the scene.

Gray and her companion were brought to the CID office, where the juvenile was read his rights in the presence of his father. He then admitted to the iPad theft as well as the burglary of a shop and boat on Jan. 29. Gray also admitted to both incidents.

Both suspects said another 16-year-old was involved in the January burglary. They claimed the three of them committed burglaries and theft of gas at the Pine Hills Country Club on three different nights. The Minden Police Department will be bringing charges for the country club.

Gray was charged with burglary, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, illegal possession of stolen things, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
