Webster library trading toys, food for fines

by Minden Press-Herald

The Webster Parish Library is inviting patrons to reduce or eliminate their library fines, while making the season bright for others.

Beginning today through Dec. 20, all Webster Parish Library locations will accept donations of non-perishable food and unwrapped toys in exchange for reduced library fines.

For each non-perishable food item donated, $1 will be deducted from a patron’s library fine balance. Food donations will directly benefit the United Christian Assistance Program.

Patrons can also donate a new, unwrapped toy in its original packaging with the receipt, in exchange for reducing library fines. The cost of the toy will be doubled and applied toward library fines. The toys will be donated to Civitan Santa.

Webster Parish Library will also gladly accept food items or toys from anyone, regardless of whether they have library fines.

Donated food or toys cannot be used to reduce fees associated with lost or damaged library materials and cannot be used for future credit on yet to be overdue items.

For more information, visit or call the library at 318-371-3080.
