The Gibsland Bank & Trust Minden Holiday Classic, one of north Louisiana’s largest basketball tournaments, returns this week to Minden at three locations.
The hoops marathon tips-off Wednesday at 4 p.m. and rolls on through Saturday at 8 p.m. with several mof the area’s best in attendance. First round games are as follows.
Wednesday, Dec. 13
4 p.m. Ruston vs. Lakeside (Girls), Evangel vs. Summerfield (Girls), Gibsland-Coleman vs. Haughton (Girls)
5:20 p.m. Homer vs. Lakeside (Boys), Camden, AR vs. Summerfield (Boys), Red River vs. Union Parish (Boys)
6:40 p.m. Minden vs. Homer (Girls), Camden, AR vs. North Webster (Girls), Mansfield vs. Lakeview (Girls)
8 p.m. Minden vs. North Webster (Boys), Northwood vs. Calvary (Boys), Lakeview vs. Gibsland-Coleman
First and second round games will be played at Minden High, Webster Junior High and the Minden Rec. Center, with semifinal and championship games to be played solely at Minden High School’s home gym, “The Palace.”
This year mark’s the 27th annual edition of the tournament.
