People often talk about how life is short, and everything we have can be taken away from us in a split second, nothing can last forever yet there are things and situations that are meant to last a lifetime. Imagine being able to survive another year of difficulties. This is something that people can only dream of. Elmer Grider and Peggy Randle Grider lived to tell their story, thank God!
It all begins on January 23, 1974, having joined in Holy Matrimony, when Elmer Grider was obedient to God’s word as expressed in Ephesians 5: 31: Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. On this very day Elmer vowed to love, honor, and cherish Peggy Randle until death do them part, the two became one, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Grider.
As stated in Genesis 1:28: And God blessed them and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply.” They became the parents of Latina Grider Deloach (Husband, Pastor Gregory Deloach); Reginald Grider (Wife, Brandy), and Tyrone Grider (Wife, Lakishia). Their legacy continues for they are the proud Grandparents of eight and the great-grandparents of one.
Hand in hand they work together, diligently, with the help of God Almighty, to instill respect, integrity, love, patience, and generosity into their children as they build and support their community in their family business, Grider’s Glass. Today they continue this legacy realizing that God is the Author and Finisher of their journey, and it is because of Him these 50 years exist.
Fifty years of togetherness is an extraordinary achievement. Happy 50th anniversary to Elmer and Peggy Grider who have shared five decades of love, challenges, and countless cherished memories. Their love and friendship have stood the test of time, and their journey together is truly inspiring and unquestionable.
