Voting opens for Minden’s Pet Mayor Election

by Amber McDown

The Mayor’s Paw-ffice has officially announced the opening of voting for Minden’s Pet Mayor Election, an event filled with excitement and noble purpose. Pet owners have nominated their furry friends to compete for the title of Pet Mayor of the City of Minden for the 2024-2025 term.

Voting is now open and will continue until May 27. Participants can cast their votes for as many candidates as they wish, with each vote costing $5. The pet with the most votes will be crowned Pet Mayor, while second and third place will assume the roles of Chief of Paw-lice and Fur Chief, respectively. Pets placing fourth through eighth will form the Pet Council.

To cast a vote or learn more about the candidates, visit Minden’s Pet Mayor Election website. Each candidate has a profile detailing why they should be elected.

Apart from the excitement of the election, the event serves a noble cause. Proceeds from registration fees and voting will contribute to the construction of Minden’s new Animal Control Facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of the city’s animals for years to come.

“Join us for Minden’s Pet Mayor Election, an exciting fundraiser for the City of Minden’s Animal Control Facility! Nominate your pet and vote with donations. The pet with the most donations wins the title of Minden’s Pet Mayor. Support our animal friends and our community,” said Nick Cox, Minden’s Human Mayor.

The City of Minden invites everyone to participate in this tail-wagging extravaganza and support the construction of a new shelter for animals in need.
