Five standouts from Webster Parish teams have been named to the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association All-Region I team.
They are Doyline pitcher Noah Spears, Lakeside catcher Jon Jon Dick, Minden utility Brody Bower, Glenbrook utility Easton Sanders and Glenbrook utility Landry Powell.
Bower and Powell are 2024 graduates. Spears, Dick and Sanders are rising seniors.
Spears went 4-5 pitching against some of Doyline’s toughest opponents. He had an ERA of 1.382 with 101 strikeouts in 76 innings.
Dick batted .379 with seven doubles, three triples, one home run and 22 RBI.
Bower, primarily a pitcher, had a 2.148 ERA with 75 strikeouts in 58 2/3 innings. An infielder when not pitching, Bower led the Tide with a .467 batting average. His 14 doubles and 32 RBI were also team highs.
Sanders, also primarily a pitcher, went 9-2 for the full season. He pitched three complete games in the playoffs as the Apaches advanced to the select Division IV state championship game with victories over the No. 6, No. 3 and No. 2 seeds.
Sanders was 6-2 in with a 1.33 ERA in the regular season. He had 83 strikeouts in 47 1/3 innings.
He also led the Apaches in the regular season with a .412 batting average.
Powell, who played a varsity of positions, batted .427 for the full season. He had 18 RBI in the regular season.
