Two people and a juvenile were arrested after reportedly beating a man during an armed robbery.

Minden Police say a total of four were involved in the commission of the crime, two adults and two juveniles, but one juvenile was not arrested. Capt. Julie Harmon says the incident occurred in the 200 block N. Middle Landing Road, on Sunday, June 5.

“When our officers arrived, they saw an older man with EMS and he was bleeding,” she said.

“They saw a male identified as Walter Morgan whose shirt was covered in blood and holding a towel to his head.”

Officer Kenneth James asked Morgan what happened, and according to the police report, he told James that two females were talking to him when he noticed two males inside his residence.

“The two females came to his residence and asked for some money,” she said. “He stated he gave the female $5 and told them he didn’t have any more. The other female said she needed to go to the bathroom and he allowed her in the house.”

When he noticed the two males inside his house, he told them to leave, Harmon said.

The two males exited the residence, and one of them picked up an axe handle from the yard and struck Morgan with it. When Morgan fell to the ground, Harmon says the male reached into his pocket and took roughly $400 in cash.

Morgan was transported to Minden Medical Center for his injuries. Harmon says Morgan suffered from a concussion and a broken arm, and was admitted to the hospital.

“He recognized one of the girls, and he knew who she belonged to,” she said. “Officers found all four of them, but only three were arrested.”

Contrevious Patterson, 18, of the 400 block of Front Street, was arrested for armed robbery, aggravated second-degree battery and possession of Schedule I CDS (synthetic marijuana).

The second adult arrested was Brianna Rogers, 21, of the same address, for armed robbery, aggravated second-degree battery, principal to armed robbery and principal to aggravated second-degree battery.

When the officers interviewed Rogers and Patterson at police headquarters, they learned that Patterson was the one who struck Morgan with the axe handle. They also learned that Rogers was one of the females who took money from Morgan, along with another female juvenile, Harmon said.

During a pat down, officers discovered what appeared to be synthetic marijuana on Patterson’s person, according to the police report.

Rogers and Patterson were transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
