All citizens in Bossier City are encouraged to drive safe, slow down and expect some detours and delays as construction takes place on various road projects. The 5000 blk. of Shed Rd. at the railroad tracks near 220 will be closed from July 18th – 20th as work is done to repair the portion of road at the railroad track. Citizens must be prepared to take an alternate route during this time. The City of Bossier City and the LA- DOTD advises motorist that on Tuesday July 16th the outside Northbound Ln. of Hwy 3 (Benton Rd.) will be closed from Montgomery to Douglas while contractors work on the new light signals at the intersection of the new Walter O. Bigby Carriageway. This construction is expected to be completed in one day. Hwy 71 – Barksdale Blvd. inside lane will be closed from Riverbend to Golden Meadows beginning on July 10th in order to construct a much needed turning lane into this area of South Bossier. This construction project has a projected completion time of approximately 60 days. These construction times are weather contingent. We ask that citizens will use caution when traveling in these areas and be watchful of work crews and equipment. After completion our roads and commute will be improved… this is all part of the mission to “Make Bossier Better.”
