On June 26, 2025 at approximately 4:00 PM, the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding a bus that had dropped off a number of individuals along Sligo Road in south Bossier Parish.
Deputies immediately responded to the area to assess the situation. Upon arrival, Bossier Sheriff’s deputies, working alongside an agent with the Homeland Security Task Force, conducted a thorough investigation and determined that all individuals at the scene possessed valid work visas, authorizing them to work legally in the United States.
Following the initial response, the bus in question was located and stopped by law enforcement on Interstate 20. Authorities verified that all additional passengers aboard were also in the country legally.
The situation was resolved without incident, and all Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded to the scene have since returned to regular duty.
Sheriff Julian Whittington commended the swift and professional response by all agencies involved and emphasized the importance of thorough verification when citizen concerns are reported.
“Our priority is always the safety of our community,” said Sheriff Whittington. “We take every report seriously, and we’re proud of the calm, coordinated response our deputies demonstrated today.”
