Fire is one of the most essential elements of life capable of great comfort but also devastating destruction. As humans, we share many similarities with fire. For example, we like fire, must breathe, be nurtured to grow, be protected from the elements, and are all fated one day to be extinguished. Every moment of our existence like the fire has the potential to be bright and warm and a guiding light to others but only if we allow it to. This is not a new concept; God gave it to us in the form of a command. Mathew 5 14-16 says Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. I write this message not to discourage or flatter but to encourage and inspire. God has made us provide comfort, warmth, and ultimately guidance.
