EPSON MFP imageCalvin Stephens was born June 23, 1941 to the late Mr. Shelly Stephens and Mrs. Pearlie Germany Stephens in Heflin. Calvin was the eighth of nine siblings born to this parentage.

He attended Bienville Parish Schools. Calvin was employed most of his life in the pulp wood industry. He loved the outdoors.

Calvin believed in God and when asked what he would say to his loved ones that gone on before him again, he would just smile.

He departed this earthly life Friday, October 18. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Mary Jane, Idell, Hattie Mae, and Alice Faye; four brothers, Pete, Shelly, Robert and Johnny.

He leaves to cherish his memories one sister, Pennie Allen of Minden, who he loved dearly; a special nephew and niece, Luke and Mary Shepherd; two special great nephews, Derrick Parker and Shelton Ray Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended relatives.

Funeral services for Calvin Stephens will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, in the Kennon’s Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. John Fincher officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, October 24 in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary.
