College baseball: Louisiana Tech joins Kansas State, SEMO and Arkansas in Fayetteville Regional

RUSTON — Louisiana Tech was selected to play in the NCAA Fayetteville Regional hosted by No. 5 Arkansas. Louisiana Tech this is an 11 NCAA Tournament appearance,which is also the third NCAA Regional in four years for Louisiana Tech. 

Louisiana Tech (45-17) will face Kansas State (32-24), Southeast Missouri (34-25), and Arkansas (43-14) in the Fayetteville Regional. Arkansas is the number one seed, followed by Tech being the second seed, Kansas State as the third seed, and Southeast Missouri being the fourth seed in the Fayetteville Regional. 

LA Tech, with a 45-16 record this season, claimed the 2024 CUSA Regular Season Title with its 18-6 record in the CUSA. The Diamond Dogs, with 30 wins at home, tied the record of home wins, set in 1988 when the Tech went 30-4. The last time LA Tech played in an NCAA Regional was in 2022 in the Austin Regional, which saw Dallas Baptist, No. 9 Texas, and Air Force. 

The winner of the Fayetteville Regional will play the winner of the Charlottesville Regional in the best-of-three-game super regional from June 7-9 or June 8-10.
