The triumphant Dixie Darlings, champions of the 8U World Series in Tennessee, were showered with adoration during a spirited drive-by parade held at Academy Park on the evening of August 10. A convoy of vehicles, carrying exuberant fans, proud relatives, esteemed community leaders including Mayor Nick Cox, and accompanied by resounding police cars and fire engines, paraded past the park with an outpouring of support for these young Minden athletes. Cheers resounded as participants honked, waved, proudly displayed signs, and generously bestowed tokens of encouragement.

Following the exhilarating parade, the squad of dedicated young athletes, along with their families and coaches, congregated at the charming Cottage on Fort. The Cottage served as the backdrop for a celebratory gathering, where joy and camaraderie permeated the atmosphere. The event was a heartfelt recognition of the team’s remarkable achievements, further solidifying their place in the hearts of Minden’s proud community.
