Dixie Inn Aldermen to discuss ordinances, taser contract at upcoming meeting

by Minden Press-Herald

The Village of Dixie Inn Board of Aldermen will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 11, at 5 PM at Village Hall, located at 60 Shell Street.

The agenda includes the adoption of minutes from the February regular session and a February 28 workshop, as well as the review of the village’s financial statements for the past month.

Officials will hear reports from the water and maintenance department, police department, aldermen, and Mayor Donna Hoffoss.

New business on the agenda includes consideration of a generator maintenance service agreement with Taylor Generator Service and approval for Chief McNeill to purchase signs for Highway 80 and the Main to Main sales event. The signs would clarify setup and cleanup times for vendors.

The board will also discuss a potential Taser contract for the police department and introduce two ordinances regarding mayoral and aldermen compensation. Ordinance No. 90-B is up for adoption, and an invoice for a 175-gallon containment vessel for the water department’s caustic tank will also be reviewed.

The meeting is open to the public.
