Funeral services for Doris June West, 75, of Haynesville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at First Assembly of God in Haynesville, with Rodney Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Rahma Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at First Assembly of God.
Mrs. West was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Tallulah and died Jan. 27, 2015, in Homer.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother, a homemaker who loved her family and all of God’s gifts in her life. Most of all, she was a devoted daughter of God. She loved all things and people the good Lord put in her path in life. She had the light and love of God.
When you were in her presence, you knew by the light in her eyes and the joy in her laughter. She was truly an angel to all who knew her, even before she was an angel in heaven.
Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents, V. E. and Gladys Stillwell and her brother, James “Jimmy” Stillwell.
She is survived by her husband, Roger C. West; son, Mike J. West and daughter-in-law, Kathy West; son, Roger D. West; son, Dale A. West and daughter-in-law, Christina West; grandchildren, David West, Susan West, Jerimah West and Austin and Ashlyn Moss; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sim Bailey Jr., Coby Barton and Eric Walker.
