arrested on roughly the same charges as Washington and Elkins.

Around 1:30 p.m., Cropper says the four were observed walking down Constable Street.

“We’d received a report that there were four males walking the streets that were possibly in possession of stolen firearms,” he said. “When the four noticed the patrol car, all of them took off running. All four were detained, and it was discovered they were all carrying concealed handguns on their persons.”

He says before they were detained, Washington, Elkins and the juvenile gave their guns to Hawkins to hide in his residence.

The firearm in the juvenile’s possession and the one in Elkins’ possession were the two reported stolen, the chief says, adding the juvenile’s grandfather reported the guns stolen.

The guns were located and seized.

Cropper says the four were walking within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

They were all transported to police headquarters for booking.
