Gates appointed to Doyline council

DOYLINE — Christine Carter Gates has been appointed as Doyline Alderman, filling the seat left vacant when Steven Bridwell was appointed mayor.

Bridwell was appointed mayor following the resignation of mayor Gary Carter following his domestic abuse arrest.

A special election will be held in October to fill the council and mayor seats. Qualifying for that election will take place in July.
