Greater Minden Chamber seeking board nominations

by Minden Press-Herald

According to a press release form the Greater Minden Chamber, nominations are now open for its Board of Directors. Each candidate must be an active Chamber member in good standing and must have agreed to accept the responsibilities of a directorship if elected.

The duties and responsibilities of the position are as follows. Approve an annual budget to finance the organization, approve all Chamber policy, provide the personal leadership, enthusiasm and support necessary to help coordinate and build an effective organization, attend meetings of the Board and functions of the Chamber, help to broaden the financial resources of the organization, project a professional and positive image when representing the Chamber, and ensure that Chamber programs, projects, and activities are consistent with the mission statement and interests of its members.

Those interested in the position may nominate themselves or someone else for a spot on the Board.

In October, the Executive Committee will present a slate of candidates to serve three-year terms to replace the directors whose regular terms are expiring. Members will be notified of the names of the persons nominated as candidates for the director and the right to petition to add additional names to the list of candidates.  After the election by our membership, all newly elected and appointed Board members will begin participating effective January 1, 2019.

Nominations are due to Alena Dunn ([email protected]) by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18th, 2019. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Greater Minden Chamber for more information by calling 318-377-4240.
