The Glenbrook Apaches wrapped up another District 1-1A championship Tuesday with an 8-3 victory over Cedar Creek in the first game of a doubleheader in Ruston.
The Apaches also won the second game 4-2 to complete the series sweep. Since joining the LHSAA in 2021-22, Glenbrook has not lost a district game. The Apaches (15-8) finished 6-0 this season.
Elsewhere, Minden defeated Saline 15-0 in four innings at Minden.
At Cedar Creek, Sam Ricord went the distance in the first game. He scattered six hits, struck out two and walked one.
Jackson Waller went 3-for-3 with a solo home run. Ryan Reagan Went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Dawson Day went 2-for-3 with a double.
Glenbrook led 5-1 after 4 1/2 innings. Cedar Creek got within two with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Apaches put three on the board in the seventh.
Glenbrook broke a 2-2 tie in the second game with two runs in the top of the sixth. Waller led off with a single. Reagan, Ricord, Preston Frye and Hudson Glasscock drew consecutive walks.
Waller had the Apaches’ only two hits, including a double. Glenbrook took advantage of eight walks with Ricord and Glasscock drawing two each.
Reagan gave up just four hits. He struck out three and walked two.
Glenbrook visits North DeSoto Thursday at 6.
At Minden, the Crimson Tide led 2-0 after two innings then scored five in the third and eight in the fourth.
Landyn Huddleston had three doubles and five RBI. Bryson Ranger went 2-for-4. Jaxon Smith had three RBI and Bray Winston two. Hudson Brown had a double and drew two walks. Landon Brewer also drew two walks.
Winston pitched all four innings. He allowed three hits, struck out five and walked one.
Minden (16-12) visits Ouachita Parish Wednesday.
