The Glenbrook Apaches and Lakeside Warriors suffered tough losses to qualify opponents from District 1-4A Thursday.
Glenbrook fell to North DeSoto 8-6 in Stonewall. The Griffins (20-10) entered the game at No. 3 in the non-select Division II power rankings per GeauxPreps.com.
Lakeside dropped a 6-5 decision to Northwood (24-4) at Northwood. The Falcons entered the game at No. 2 in the non-select Division I rankings.
At North DeSoto, Glenbrook took a 5-4 lead with three runs in the top of the fourth. The Griffins tied it with one in the bottom of the fifth. The Apaches regained the lead with one in the sixth. But North DeSoto answered with three in the bottom of the frame.
Ryan Reagan went 2-for-3. Darron Hollingsworth went 2-for-4. Dawson Day had two RBI. Jackson Waller had a hit and drew two walks. Seth Mangrum drew three walks and Preston Frye two.
Glenbrook (15-9) visits District 1-4A champion Loyola Monday at 6.
The Warriors led 5-1 after five innings. But the Falnons scored one in the sixth then won it with four in the bottom of the seventh.
Jon Jon Dick went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Gage Williams went 2-for-2 and drew two walks. Brock Case went 2-for-3. Peyton Gray had a double.
Gray started and went four innings. He allowed one hit, struck out one and walked three.
Lakeside (17-14) visits Evangel Christian Monday at 6 in its final regular-season game.
At Minden, Landon Brewer had two hits, including a home run. Bryson Ranger had two hits. Jaxon Smith had a double. The Tide took advantage of 13 walks.
Landyn Huddleston got the win.
