High school baseball: Glenbrook wraps up 1-1A title; Lakeside, Doyline win district games

The Glenbrook Apaches completed another dominating run in District 1-1A with a 16-0 victory over Ringgold in three innings at Glenbrook Thursday.

Glenbrook, which defeated Homer 13-0 in four innings Wednesday, outscored its five district opponents 80-2. Haynesville scored both runs in a 13-2 loss.

Lakeside and Doyline also picked up district victories Thursday.

The Warriors defeated Calvary Baptist 7-4 at Calvary in the first of a three-game District 1-2A series. The Panthers completed a two-game District 1-B sweep of Castor with a 12-6 victory at Doyline.

Minden opened District 1-4A play with an 11-3 loss to Northwood at Griffith Stadium. North Webster fell to Sterlington 15-0 in five innings in a District 1-3A game at Sterlington.

At Glenbrook, Jackson Waller went 2-for-3 with a triple and double against Ringgold. Hayden Hammett had a double and two RBI.

Dawson Day and Darron Hollingsworth had two RBI each.

Landry Powell pitched a no-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk.

Powell went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and three RBI against Homer. Walker had a double.

Easton Sanders pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks. He faced the limit of 12 batters. Glenbrook made one error.

The Apaches improved to 11-9.

At Lakeside, Jordan Isbell pitched a complete game. He allowed four hits, struck out seven and walked two.

Jon Jon Dick went 3-for-3. Matthew Aguilera went 2-for-4 with four RBI. Hunter Sutton had two hits and two RBI. Isbell also had two hits.

The Warriors trailed 4-2 after four innings. They scored four in the top of the fifth. Isbell, Peyton Gray, Dick and Aguilera led off the inning with consecutive singles: Sutton singled in the final two runs with one out.

The Warriors added one in the seventh on a Sutton single.

Lakeside improved to 11-9 overall and 4-3 in district. Calvary dropped to 15-8 and 3-1. 

At Minden, the Crimson Tide trailed 4-3 after three innings. The Falcons scored five in the top of the fourth.

Jakobe Jackson, Zander Rowell and Brody Bower had two hits apiece. Landon Brewer had a double.

Northwood’s Nathan Cervantes went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Jack Carlisle pitched a complete game.

Northwood improved to 17-5 overall and 3-0 in district. Minden (14-7) hosts Family Community Friday at 6.

At Doyline, Kenneth Lee went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI. Cayden Mingo went 2-for-2 with two RBI. Noah Spears had a triple.

Spears gave up just two hits and no runs in five innings of relief. He struck out 11 and walked two.

Doyline improved to 9-9 overall and 2-2 in district.

At Sterlington, North Webster dropped to 10-10 overall and 1-1 in district. Sterlington improved to 12-7 and 1-0.
