High school baseball: Lakeside claims second one-run victory this week; Doyline wins

The Lakeside Warriors won their second game in as many days Tuesday, defeating D’Arboone Woods 6-5 at Lakeside.

The Warriors edged Ouachita Parish 3-2 Monday at Lakeside.

Elsewhere Tuesday, Doyline defeated Huntington 7-5 at Doyline, Minden fell to Loyola 3-1 in the first of a two-game District 1-4A series at Loyola and Glenbrook lost to Ruston 16-6 at Glenbrook.

At Lakeside, the Warriors rallied from a 5-3 deficit after five innings. They scored one in the sixth then won it with two in the seventh.

Noah Redding led off the seventh with a single and Peyton Gray drew a walk. Brick Case moved the runners to second and third with a sacrifice bunt. After Jon Jon Dick was intentionally walked, pinch runner Eric Jones scored the tying run on a single by Gage Williams. Drake Chreene’s sacrifice fly scored Gray with the winning run.

Williams scored the run in the sixth on Maddox Cascio’s two-out single.

Williams went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Dick went 2-for-3 with triple. Gray went 2-for-3.

Jake Glass had an RBI-double.

Gray started on the mound and went four innings. Eli Campbell got the win in relief.

Williams pitched 5 2/3 innings against Ouachita. He allowed one hit, struck out five and walked four. Campbell didn’t allow a hit in 1 1/3 innings of relief. He struck out two and walked one.

Drake Chreene’s RBI-single with one out in the sixth scored Dick with the go-ahead run.

Lakeside (11-13) hosts Mansfield in a District 3-2A doubleheader Friday at 5.

At Loyola, the Flyers scored all three runs in the first two innings. Minden scored a run in the top of the seventh with no outs and had runners at second and third but couldn’t get them home.

Bray Winston went 2-for-3. Bryson Ranger had a double. Ranger went the distance on the mound.

Loyola’s Cole Pryor allowed five hits, struck out seven and walked three.

The Tide (14-9, 0-3) and Flyers (15-7, 3-0) are scheduled to complete the series Thursday at Minden at 6.

At Glenbrook, Seth Mangrum went 2-for-3. Easton Sanders and Ryan Reagan both doubled. Preston Frye had two RBI.

Glenbrook (10-8) hosts Parkway Friday at 6.

At Doyline, the Panthers took advantage of 11 walks. Kenneth Anderson was hit by a pitch three times. 

Starter Jesse Quinn went four innings. He allowed two hits, struck out six and walked none. James Dodge pitched one inning. Zach Normand struck out four and walked one in the final two innings.

Doyline (7-8) visits Haughton Wednesday at 5
