Friday night was a tough one for parish teams.
InDistrict 1-4A, Minden lost to Huntington in boys and girls games at Huntington. The Crimson Tide fell 66-42 and the Lady Tiders lost 72-33.
In a District 1-B boys game, defending champion Doyline lost to Castor 71-63 at Castor.
At Huntington, the Crimson Tide got off to a slow start and never recovered. The Raiders led 24-11 after the first quarter and 41-17 at the half.
Kameron Harris led Minden (11-6, 1-1) with 10 points. Cameron Parker had eight.
Jacob Stewart and Antonio Dixon led The Raiders (14-11, 1-1) with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Minden hosts defending champion Bossier Tuesday. The Bearkats dropped to 1-2 in district with a 60-45 loss to Evangel Christian Saturday.
According to GeauxPreps.com, Minden is No. 17 in the non-select Division II power rankings. The No. 5-16 teams in the final rankings host first-round playoff games.
The Lady Tiders suffered their first district loss, falling to 2-1.
Huntington improved to 21-5 and 2-0.
Minden defeated Woodlawn 39-23 Wednesday night in a game that was postponed because of the winter weather.
Brooklyn Jefferson led the Lady Tiders with 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
The Lady Tiders (11-9) are No. 19 in non-select Division II.
The Doyline boys dropped to 18-3 overall and 1-1 in district. The Panthers, No. 9 in non-select Division V, host Quitman Tuesday.
Castor improved to 10-13 and 1-1.
Elsewhere, defending non-select Division II champion Wossman was too much for North Webster in a District 1-3A girls game in Monroe.
The Lady Knights (11-6, 0-3) are No. 14 in non-select Division III and still in the hunt to host a first-round playoff game.
With the regular season coming to a close, the Lakeside and Glenbrook girls are also still battling for playoff berths.
Lakeside lost to D’Arbonne Woods 56-40 in a District 1-2A game Friday. The Lady Warriors (5-14, 2-1) are No. 28 in non-select Division III. The top 28 teams in the final rankings make the playoffs.
Glenbrook defeated Haynesville 45-12 Thursday night. The Lady Apaches (3-10, 3-2) are No. 22 in select Division IV. The top 24 teams in the five select divisions make the playoffs.
