High school basketball: Minden sweeps Lakeside; Doyline boys, North Webster girls win

Minden swept Lakeside in boys and girls games Tuesday night at Minden.

The Crimson Tide won 79-15 and the Lady Tiders won 55-18.

Elsewhere, Doyline and North Webster split games at Doyline.

Doyline won the boys game 71-54, and North Webster won the girls 40-39.

At Minden, eight Crimson Tide players scored.

Cameron Parker and Maurice Rabb had 15 and 14, respectively. 

Jekoye Knowles added 12. Hudson Brown and Kameron Harris tallied 10 each.

Minden (5-1) visits Airline next Tuesday. Lakeside hosts Haughton Thursday.

Ten Lady Tiders scored in the girls game.

Brooklyn Jefferson and Markeithdra Willis had 11 points each. Willis hit three 3-pointers. Jefferson also had eight rebounds.

Travesti Byrd had 10 points and four assists.

McKenzie Chase led Lakeside with nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers. She hit a 3 from just past the halfcourt line at the first-half buzzer.

Minden (2-3) visits Homer Thursday, and Lakeside visits Simsboro.

At Doyline, Cayden Mingo poured in 32 points as the Panthers ran their record to 8-0.

He also had four rebounds, four steals and four assists.

Damarion McClendon had 12 points and three steals. Kedric Clark had nine points and eight rebounds.

Jay Patterson had seven points, five rebounds, two blocks and two steals.

The game was the season opener for North Webster.

The North Webster girls improved to 2-1 with their second straight victory.

North Webster visits North Caddo in boys and girls games Thursday.
