High school boys basketball: Minden improves to 4-0; Doyline wins seventh straight

The Minden Crimson Tide and Doyline Panthers won Tuesday night.

Minden improved to 4-0 with a 76-55 road victory over Gibsland-Coleman.

Doyline routed Plain Dealing 65-14 in the third annual Decari Markray Classic at BPCC.

At Gibsland-Coleman, the game was relatively close for three quarters.

The Tide and Bulldogs were tied at 16 after the first quarter. Minden led 37-30 at the half and 49-41 after three quarters.

The Tide dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 27-14.

Carmelo Smith led Minden with 27 points. Darnell Morris added 17. Jaiden Franklin had 11 and Cameron Parker 10.

DeAvery Durham led Gibsland-Coleman (4-2) with 19. Both of the Bulldogs’ losses have come against Minden.

Minden visits Lakeside Dec. 3.

At BPCC, Doyline led the outmanned Lions 21-2 after the first quarter and 50-11 at the half.

The running clock kicked in during the second quarter.

Jay Patterson scored 23 of his 28 points in the first half. Damarion McClendon hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 points.

Doyline (10-1) has won seven in a row. The Panthers visit North Webster Tuesday.
