High school cross country: Glenbrook girls runner-up in Lakeside meet

Glenbrook finished runner-up in the girls division on the Lakeside Anthill Challenge Saturday.

The Apaches scored 45 points. Caddo Magnet won with 32. D’Arbonne Woods Charter was third with 64.

Glenbrook’s Mattison Fowler finished third. She covered the 5K Minden Recreation Center course in 21 minutes, 55.02 seconds.

Ouachita Christian’s Caroline Pankey won in 19:28.12. Caddo Magnet’s Kyrsten Thompson finished second in 21:49.07.

Glenbrook’s Emerson McLelland was 10th in 23:11.45. Laurie Killgore and Emma Garner finished 12th and 13th, respectively, in 23:39.53 and 23:49.78.

Hadley Haynes rounded out the scoring for Glenbrook with a 20th-place finish in 24:53.53.

Minden’s Lizzie Balkom was 22nd in 25:36.93.

North Webster’s Stephen Merritt was the top finisher from Webster Parish in the boys division. He finished 12th in 19:05.37.

Caddo Magnet’s Lee Ballard won in 16:29.86. D’Arbonne Woods Eric Ramsey was second in 16:48.97.

Trent Clemons led Glenbrook with a 24th-place finish in 20:04.62.

Minden’s Braydon Winston was 29th in 20:20.30.

D’Arbonne Woods took the team title with 35 points. Caddo Magnet was second with 39.

Glenbrook finished sixth.
