High school girls basketball: Minden can’t overcome slow start in loss to Haughton

The Minden Lady Tiders fell to the Haughton Lady Bucs 51-51 Monday night at Minden.

Minden trailed 19-4 after the first quarter then played well for the next three but couldn’t come all the way back.

The game featured two former Southwood stars who are now head coaches, Minden’s Cindee Wright-Clark and Haughton’s Jenna Bolin.

Travesti Byrd led Minden with 12 points. She also had four assists.

Shelby Glenn had nine points and four assists. Brooklyn Jefferson had eight rebounds and six points.

Minden (1-3) is off until Nov. 28 when the Lady Tiders host Lakeside.
