High school girls basketball: North Webster’s Caldwell shines in loss

Nazaria Caldwell poured in 28 points in the North Webster Lady Knights’ 55-44 loss to the Plain Dealing Lady Lions Monday night at Plain Dealing.

Despite the loss, the Lady Knights are still off to a solid start at 5-3.

North Webster got into a hole early, falling behind 18-6 after the first quarter. But the Lady Knights rallied in the second behind eight points from Caldwell and trailed by just four at the half.

North Webster was still down only seven going into the fourth. But Plain Dealing’s Jakayla Douglas scored 11 of her 30 points in the quarter as the Lady Lions pulled out the win.

North Webster hosts Lakeside Tuesday at 6.
