The Glenbrook Lady Apaches and Lakeside Lady Warriors opened district play with dominating victories Wednesday.
Glenbrook routed Ringgold 18-0 in a District 1-1A game at Glenbrook. Lakeside crushed Red River in three innings in a District 3-2A game at Lakeside.
At Glenbrook, the Lady Apaches scored 14 in the first and four in the second.
Nine Glenbrook players combined for 13 hits. Hallie Harmon went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and four RBI. Savannah Mangrum went 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Anna Grace Vining went 2-for-2. Gabi Brown hit a three-run home run.
Colby Hollis, Ellie Earnhardt, Hadley Haynes and Vivian Still all had doubles,
Rebecca Mosley struck out eight and walked none.
Glenbrook (8-0) is scheduled to visit Converse Monday at 4 p.m.
At Lakeside, seven Lakeside players combined for 10 hits.
Emily Jones went 2-for-2 with two RBI. McKenna Chreene went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Teal Austin went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
MaKensie Hamiter had a double and two RBI. Raleah Harris had two RBI.
Moose Jernigan didn’t allow a hit and struck out four with no walks in two innings.
Ella Wood struck out the side in the top of the third.
Lakeside (9-1) is scheduled to visit Ruston Thursday at 4:30.
