High school softball: Glenbrook, Lakeside win

The Glenbrook Lady Apaches and Lakeside Lady Warriors won Thursday.

Glenbrook defeated Family Community 12-1 at Glenbrook, and Lakeside edged Evangel Christian 5-4 at Evangel.

At Glenbrook, Hallie Harmon went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBI in the five-inning game. Gabi Brown went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.

Colby Hollis, Hadley Haynes and Ellie Earnhardt all went 2-for-3. Anna Grace Vining had two RBI. Rebecca Mosley got the win.

Glenbrook (22-8) hosts Beekman Charter Friday at 5.

At Evangel, Lakeside trailed 3-1 after five innings. The Lady Warriors scored one in the top of the sixth then tacked on three more in the seventh.

The Lady Eagles cut the lead to one with no outs in the bottom of the inning. Moose Jernigan entered the game at pitcher. She induced a popup and got a strikeout. After a single, she induced another popup to end the game.

Six Lakeside players combined for seven hits. Emily Jones went 2-for-4 with a double. Meredith Robinson’s two-RBI double with one out in the seventh gave the Lady Warriors the lead.

Rhea Waller singled earlier in the inning. Jones’ brought home the final run with a single.

Starter McKenna Chreene allowed four hits in four innings. Ella Wood pitched two innings of relief.

Lakeside (23-5) hosts Ebarb Friday at 5.
