High school softball: Glenbrook runs record to 7-0 with rout of Southwood

The Glenbrook Lady Apaches ran their record to 7-0 with an 18-1 victory over Southwood in Monday at Glenbrook.

Last Friday, Glenbrook’s Tyler Cox, 24, won his 50th game in less than three seasons as head coach. With Monday’s victory, he’s up to 53.

Elsewhere, Lakeside suffered its first loss, falling to Logansport 15-14 on the road. Minden fell to Quitman 11-0 at home.

At Glenbrook, Vivian Still went 3-for-3 with a home run, triple and double and four RBI. Gabi Brown went 2-for-2 with a home run, double and two RBI. Ellie Earnhardt went 2-for-2 with a triple and double

Hadley Haynes had a triple and four RBI. Hallie Harmon had a double.

Rebecca Mosley didn’t allow a hit in the three-inning game. She struck out three and walked two.

Glenbrook is scheduled to host Ringgold Tuesday at 5 p.m.

At Logansport, Lakeside trailed 6-5 after four innings. The Lady Warriors took the lead with four runs in the top of the fifth. But Logansport answered with eight in the bottom of the inning to go to up 14-9.

Lakeside rallied to tie it at 14 with two runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh. But the Lady Tigers won it on a home run by Ainsley Morvan with one out in the bottom of the seventh.

Lakeside’s Raleah Harris went 4-for-5 and had two RBI. Rhea Waller went 3-for-5 with a double.

Meredith Robinson went 2-for-3 with a double. Ella Wood went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Teal Austin went 2-for-4.

Lakeside (8-1) is scheduled to host Red River Tuesday at 5.

At Minden, Leigha Kennon Gilbert had a triple and Lindsay Ryan a double for the Lady Tiders.

Minden (2-8) is scheduled to visit Zwolle Thursday at 5.
