The No. 10 seed Glenbrook Lady Apaches upset No. 7 Sacred Heart 3-1 in the second round of the select Division IV playoffs Wednesday afternoon in Ville Platte.
Glenbrook (25-8) will visit No. 2 Opelousas Catholic in the quarterfinals Friday at 4 p.m. The Lady Vikings defeated No. 18 St. Edmund 10-0 in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. Sacred Heart closed its season 20-9.
The Glenbrook-Sacred Heart game was suspended Tuesday because of inclement weather. The Lady Apaches were ahead 2-0 and had just started batting in the top of the third.
It remained 2-0 until the Lady Trojans scored a run in the bottom of the fifth.
Glenbrook answered with a run in the top of the sixth.
Chloe Gregg led off with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Hadley Haynes. With one out, Vivian Still hit a ground ball and reached on an error. Gregg scored on the same error.
Rebecca Mosley sat down the next six Lady Trojans in order.
Mosley scattered six hits, struck out two and walked three.
Colby Hollis and Gabi Brown both went 2-for-3. Gregg went 2-for-4. Ellie Earnhardt had an RBI-double before the rain came Tuesday. Gracie Heard drew two walks.
