High school softball: Lakeside, Glenbrook win tournament games

The Lakeside Lady Warriors and Glenbrook Lady Apaches won two games each in tournaments Saturday.

Lakeside defeated Parkway 10-4 and Converse 10-1 in the Lakeside round robin. Glenbrook defeated Southwood 25-7 and Caddie Magnet 16-1 in the Logansport tournament.

At Lakeside, McKenna Chreene hit a home run and double against Parkway. Meredith Robinson went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Emily Jones hit a three-run home run in the Lady Warriors’ four-run sixth.

Chreene struck out 12 with no walks in six innings.

Madilynn Squyres went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI against Converse. Moose Jernigan had two doubles and two RBI. Maggie Mandino went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Chreene and Robinson had doubles.

Jernigan pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Lakeside (3-0) hosts Haughton Tuesday.

Glenbrook hit five home runs against Southwood. Addison Chanler, Gabi Brown, Gracie Heard, Hallie Harmon and Presli Waller all hit one. 

Chanler had two hits and three RBI. Harmon had two hits and two RBI. Brown had four RBI and Heard three. Hadley Haynes had a triple.

Brown hit two home runs against Caddo Magnet. Vivian Still had a home run and double. 

Colby Hollis, Brown, Harmon and Chanler had two hits apiece. Brown had three RBI. Hollis, Still and Chanler had two apiece. Haynes had a triple.

Rebecca Mosley gave up one hit in the three-inning game.

Glenbrook opened the season Friday a 19-8 victory over Northwood. Hollis and Still had four hits each. Harmon and Vining had three each. Harmon hit a home run. Ellie Earnhardt had two doubles. Brown had a triple.

Mosley struck out nine in the six-inning game.

Glenbrook (3-0) hosts Calvin Tuesday.
