Several Glenbrook athletes posted high finishes in the District 1-1A meet held Tuesday at Lakeside.
The top four finishers in each event qualified for the Region 1-1A meet next Tuesday at Lakeside.
Glenbrook’s Trent Clemons finished second in the boys 1,600 in 5:13.21 and 3,200 in 11:51.02. Cedar Creek’s Luke Alexander won the 1,609 in 4:53.96 and 3,200 in 11:14.53.
Franklin Bridwell was second in the boys shot put with a throw of 38-5. Plain Dealing’s Jeremy Fisher won with a 39-0.
Anna Morales took second in the girls javelin with a throw of 85-2. Cedar Creek’s Makenzie Jones won with a 100-7.5.
Mattison Fowler and Anna Downer finished third and fourth, respectively, in the girls 800 in 2:51.52 and 2:56.77. Cedar Creek’s Taylor Martinez won in 2:35.37.
Ila Downer and Aria Kilgore were fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1,600 in 7:14.08 and 7:19.59. Cedar Creek’s Leah James won in 6:17.71.
Ella Heflin was fourth in the discus with an 80-5. Plain Dealing’s Brianna Newton won in 103-10.
Cedar Creek won the girls division with 141 points. Haynesville was second with 129.
Haynesville won the boys division with 133 points. Runner-up Jonesboro-Hodge was just six points back.
