High school track and field: North Webster girls second, boys third in the District 1-3A meet

North Webster finished second in the girls division and third in the boys in the District 1-3A meet Thursday at Sterlington.

North Webster scored 97 points in the girls division. Sterlington won with 181. 

North Webster scored 81 points in the boys division. Sterlington won with 145 and Carroll was second with 89.

The top four finishers in each event qualified for the Region I-3A meet Wednesday at ULM.

Girls 

Tatyana Lawson and Xhailor McGlothan finished 1-2 in the 100 and 200.

Lawson’s time in the 100 was 12.83 seconds. McGlothan finished just three-hundredths of a second behind her.

Lawson ran a 27.80 in the 200. McGlothan ran a 27.95.

North Webster won the 4X100 and 4X200 relays.

The foursome of Kylee Sanders, Shakyra Hawkins, Lawson and McGlothan took  the 4X100 relay in 51.10. Carroll was second in 53.99.

Hawkins also won the long jump with a 15-4. De’Maiyh Moore finished second, just 6 inches behind her.

The foursome of Sanders, Moore, Lawson and McGlothan ran a 1:47.86 in the 4X200. Carroll finished second in 1:53.31.

Sanders was second in the triple jump with a 33-8.5. Sterlington’s Layla Crawley won with a 33-9.5.

The foursome of Ina Alouja, Anna Merritt, Halie Rhodes and Rebecca Downs was third in the 4X800 in 13:48.03. Sterlington won in 11:26.08.

Merritt finished third in the 1,600 in 7:43.57. Sterlington’s Andie Woodhead won in 5:54.98.

Kipper Wooten and Azzyria Johnson finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 100 hurdles. Wooten ran a 20.15 and Johnson a 21.81. Sterlington’s Caroline Raley won in 18.90.

Wooten was third in the 300 hurdles in 56.81. Crawley won in 51.98.

Tomiyah Hawthorne took third in the shot put with a 29-5. Bastrop’s Modesty Smith won with a 35-4.

Nyla Willis was third and Hawthorne fourth in the javelin. Willis’ distance was 75-8. Hawthorne’s was 80-4. Sterlington’s Ana Robinson won with an impressive 130-3.

Wooten took third in the high jump with a 4-4. Crawley won with a 4-8.

Boys

North Webster’s Xaeliin Gladney swept the 100 and 200. J’Kobe Lawson was third in both events.

Gladney ran an 11.11 in the 100. Lawson ran an 11.23. Carroll’s Zaylin Singleton was second in 11.20.

Gladney ran a 22.28 in the 200. Lawson ran a 23.04. Sterlington’s Nathaniel White finished second in 22.70.

The foursome of Gladney, Lawson, Dejuan Coleman and JD Hardin won the 4X100 relay in 42.72. Bastrop was second in 44.32.

Javion Hawthorne won the discus with a throw of 119-5. Sterlington’s Braxton Mahoney was second in 105-9.

Jamyrian Jackson was second in the javelin with a 132-4. Sterlington’s Pressley Parker-Smith won with a 160-7.

Zaden Frazier took second in the 110 hurdles in 18.67. Carroll’s Jason Friels won in 16.57.

Kazavion Evans was third in the 300 huddles in 45.59. Friels won in 42.18.

Coleman finished third in the high jump with a 5-8. Bastrop’s Marqui Loche won with a 6-0.

The foursome of Jakayden Jackson, Hardin, Coleman and Dante Owens took third in the 4X200 in 1:33.31. Carroll won in 1:31.01.

The foursome of Logan Cleveland, Stephen Merritt, Evans and Hawthorne was third in the 4X800 in 10:11.79. Sterlington won in 10:00.26.

Merrit also qualified for the regional meet with a fourth-place finishes in the 1,600 and 3,200. He ran a 5:21.01 in the 1,600 and 12:13.09 in the 3,200.. Sterlington’s Dominik D’Avignon won in 4:50.00. Sterlington’s Chey Bridges won in 10:47.64.

The foursome of Jackson, Hardin, Owens and Braylon Washington finished fourth in the 4X400 in 4:14.53. Carroll win in 3:44.76.
