High school track and field: North Webster’s Gladney wins Class 3A boys 100 in state meet, takes second in 200

North Webster senior Xaeliin won the Class 3A boys 100 and finished second in the 200 in the LHSAA Outdoor Track and Field State Meet Friday at LSU.

Gladney’s time in the 100 was 10.78 seconds. Port Allen’s Brennan Gibson was second in 10.85.

Gladney ran a 21.83 in the 200. Gibson won in 21.69.

Gladney teamed with JD Hardin, Dejuan Coleman and J’Kobe Lawson for a runner-up finish in the 4X100 relay in 42.51. St. James won in 42.30.

North Webster finished seventh in the team competition with 26 points. Lake Charles College Prep won with 65.

North Webster’s Kylee Sanders finished fifth in the Class 3A girls triple jump with a distance of 32 feet, 8.25 inches. Mamou’s Jalaysa Arvie won with a 35-6.

The foursome of Tatyana Lawson, Shakyra Hawkins, Xhailor McGlothan and Sanders finished fifth in the 4X100 in 50.81. Lake Charles College Prep won in 48.67.

McGlothan was sixth in the 100 in 12.65. Mamou’s Kyrionna Ardoin won in 12.10.

North Webster also finished eighth in the 4X200. Tomiyah Hawthorne was eighth in the shot put. Lawson was ninth in the 100.
