Building upon the critically important, bipartisan work of the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), this week, the Republican-led House took several important steps to protect the American people, our infrastructure, and our intellectual property from the CCP.
“This week, the House passed a robust set of bills — 28 pieces of legislation that our committees have diligently worked on for months, including 15 bills with broad bipartisan support. These measures represent a strategic and coordinated approach that builds on the successes throughout this year to hold China accountable for its abuses, enhance our national security, and safeguard American interests,” Speaker Johnson said.
“From countering spy tactics within our borders to disputing unfair trade deals that hurt American workers, House Republicans standing for America’s interests while the White House has chosen to sidestep confronting the challenges posed by the CCP.
“But our work doesn’t end here. I am fully committed to advancing further legislation addressing China-related investments and other predatory practices. We will continue to push for measures that ensure our nation’s security in the face of growing threats.”
