Immunization records available online, free in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The Louisiana Department of Health is reminding parents that immunization records are available online — and at no cost — as students begin returning to school.

The Advertiser reports the records are available through LA.MyIR.net. Officials say residents can securely view, download and print official copies of immunization records on demand. The records are accepted by schools, employers, state agencies and other organizations that require proof of immunization.

Officials say it’s also an efficient way to share vaccine information when visiting a new healthcare provider for the first time.

LA.MyIR.net is part of a pilot program funded and supported by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Vaccine Program Office.
