The city of Minden will commemorate Juneteenth with an evening celebration Thursday, June 19, beginning at 6:30 PM on Martin Luther King Drive, across from Woo’s.
Organizers from the 2025 Juneteenth Committee announced that the event will feature food trucks, live music, a bounce house, performances, and presentations on the history of Juneteenth. The family-friendly gathering aims to offer a mix of entertainment and education under the theme “Unity in the Struggle, Power in the Progress.”
“I, along with the wonderful people who work on this committee, would love to invite the whole city to come out to a fun-filled evening,” said event organizer Michael Walker. “There’s something to do for everyone as well as hearing the history of Juneteenth. It’s a family event. Good food, great vendors, jump houses for the kids, and great music. Bring your chairs and tents and have a great time. We are doing this in the evening to beat the heat.
