Karen’s Korner

I think that I have shared before that I love quotes, especially ones about senior adults. There are so many different experiences we have all had and I love to remember those happy times and great memories. Quotes always give us the opportunity to do just that.

Here are some of my favorites:

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” ~Mark Twain

“Of all the self-fulfilling prophecies in our culture the assumption that aging means decline and poor health is probably the deadliest.” ~ Marilyn Ferguson

“Oh, the worst of all tragedies is not to die young, but to live until I am seventy-five and yet not ever truly to have lived.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

“You don’t stop laughing when you grow old, you grow old when you stop laughing.” ~George Bernard Shaw

“I believe the second half of one’s life is meant to be better than the first half. The first half is finding out how you do it. And the second half is enjoying it.”  ~Frances Lear

“Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.” ~Franz Kafka

“None are so old as those who have outlived enthusiasm.”  ~Henry David Thoreau

“Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow just as well.”- Unknown

“I’m not getting older; I’m becoming a classic.” – Unknown

“You know you are aging gracefully when the candles on your cake cost more than the cake itself.” – Unknown

“Middle age is when your age starts to show around your middle.” – Bob Hope

“I don’t have wrinkles; I have ‘wisdom highlights.’” – Unknown

“Aging is the process of getting to know yourself all over again.” – Unknown

I hope some of these have reminded you how very fortunate we are to have lived and loved as long as we have, thus far. Have a great week!
