Karen’s Korner

“Watching a beautiful sunset only takes a few minutes of our evenings, but it can be a precious few minutes.”  (copied)

Every part of it is beautiful, amazing, and peaceful. I am always awestruck and peaceful at the same time. Being awestruck can bring many wonderful sights and wonders to our minds, but being at peace is something that cannot be readily explained.

Being at peace, as a senior, is almost the same for all of us, but there are so many different things that bring peace. It’s almost impossible to fully understand. Sometimes, we have to look for moments of wonder and beauty in our lives, things that give us joy, excitement and fulfillment, in order to experience that peace.

I think as I have aged as a Senior, I am most peaceful when I feel safe and loved. There is a verse in the Bible that I found that best expresses this.  It is Psalm 40:5. “O Lord my God, many and many a time You have done great miracles for us, and we are ever in Your thoughts. Who else can do such glorious things? No one else can be compared to You.”

“There is no comparison to the One who loves us best, brings out the best in us, and wants the best for us at all times.” (Devotional: The Mountains are Calling)

So I guess, the next time we are truly at peace, there is One who gives us perfect peace. And I am grateful that I can enjoy those peaceful blessings every day for the rest of my life. I don’t want to miss a thing.

Gotta go watch that sunset now….
