Over 100 Events Highlighting Education, Career Pathways, and Workforce Opportunity |
Community College Week (CCW) 2025 is officially underway across Louisiana, with events taking place March 24–28 at all 12 colleges in the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS). In partnership with the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA), LCTCS is recognizing the impact of community and technical colleges in connecting students to opportunity and preparing them for success in today’s workforce.
Now in its sixth year, Community College Week highlights how LCTCS colleges are building talent, strengthening communities, and supporting the state’s economic growth.
Students, prospective learners, and community members are invited to take part in more than 100 events happening across the state—events like FAFSA completion sessions, resume workshops, career fairs, open houses, service projects, and even a fashion show. Some of these activities are designed to celebrate student life and campus pride, while others focus on community service and giving back.
Many events are aimed at prospective students, including high schoolers and adults, giving them the chance to explore campuses, learn about dual enrollment and financial aid, and discover short-term training programs that lead to in-demand careers. Community College Week underscores the essential role of Louisiana’s Community and Technical Colleges in advancing student success and readying a stronger, more resilient workforce.
“Community colleges are Louisiana’s most accessible and adaptable higher education institutions, providing students with skills that lead to immediate career opportunities,” said Dr. Monty Sullivan, LCTCS president. “Our colleges are at the center of workforce transformation, connecting students with high-demand careers while fueling local economies. Community College Week allows us to celebrate this impact and encourage more Louisianians to take advantage of the opportunities available at their local colleges.”
Colleges participating in CCW 2025 include:
- Baton Rouge Community College
- Bossier Parish Community College
- Central Louisiana Technical Community College
- Delgado Community College
- Fletcher Technical Community College
- Louisiana Delta Community College
- Northshore Technical Community College
- Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College
- Nunez Community College
- River Parishes Community College

As Community College Week concludes, it also serves as a natural lead-in to National Community College Month in April, when institutions and organizations across the country recognize the critical role two-year colleges play in providing accessible, high-quality education that transforms lives and provides a foundation for long-term economic success. Louisiana’s Community and Technical Colleges will continue sharing success stories, promoting pathways and programs, and engaging with stakeholders throughout the month as part of this broader national effort.
LCTCS remains committed to expanding access to education, offering innovative workforce training, and equipping students with the skills needed for career success. The system’s 12 colleges collectively serve more than 150,000 students annually through degree programs, short-term training, and industry-aligned certifications—changing lives and creating futures across Louisiana.
