After helping Louisiana Tech start the season 2-0, Daniel Batcho was voted as the Conference USA Player of the Week in an announcement made by the league office Monday.

The CUSA Preseason Player of the Year averaged 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game as the Bulldogs opened the season with a 77-50 home win over LSU-Alexandria followed by a convincing 92-77 victory at UT Arlington in the WAC/CUSA Challenge.

The power forward matched his season averages from a season ago in the opening contest, registering 15 points (5-of-6 shooting), eight boards, and two blocks as LA Tech held LSUA to less than 30 percent shooting from the field.

Batcho turned around and had a career performance at UTA, recording a career-high 28 points (10-of-12 shooting) to go along with seven rebounds and two rejections.

Through two games, the Paris, France native is shooting 83.3 percent from the field, one of just three players in the country with that field goal percentage and a minimum of 18 field goal attempts.

This is the second career CUSA weekly honor for Batcho.  He and the Bulldogs head to Long Island, New York to battle UMass on Wednesday, Nov. 13 as part of the Icons of the Game Event.  Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. CT on MSG Network and MSG+.
