Mighty Oaks to close after seven years of service

by Amber McDown

Jennifer Powell, owner of Mighty Oaks LLC, has announced that the clothing store for boys and men will be closing in the near future. Mighty Oaks has been a staple in the community for seven years, with Powell taking over ownership six and a half years ago from the original owner.

The store has faced numerous challenges over the years, including parking issues, a flood, and closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“When I say Mighty Oaks has the best customers, we have the BEST customers,” said Powell.

Powell made the decision to close the store after much prayer and counsel. “It was not a decision I made lightly,” she said. “It is just time for this chapter in my life to come to an end.”

The exact closing date has not been announced, and store hours may vary in the coming weeks. Mighty Oaks will hold sales to clear out inventory. For more information about sales and store hours, visit their Facebook page at Mighty Oaks – A Shop For Boys & Men.

Mighty Oaks’ closure marks the end of a significant chapter for the local community, which has supported the store through its various ups and downs.
