The 2025 Minden Charity Classic is set to take place May 30 through June 1, serving as a major fundraising event for the Minden Foundation to assist local residents facing sudden and catastrophic hardships.
The Minden Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide charitable assistance in the Minden area. Funds are used to support individuals or families impacted by emergencies such as house fires, floods, or unexpected illness that leads to financial strain. The foundation also connects recipients to other support services that may better suit their needs.
The Charity Classic will begin with a Dinner & Auction on Friday, May 30 at Pine Hills Country Club. A golf tournament will follow on June 1 and June 2 at the same location.
Sponsorships for the event are available at $1,100 and include four tickets to the Friday night dinner. Sponsors may also enter a team into the golf tournament if space permits.
Charitable funds are distributed by application only. The foundation does not advertise, instead working through local ministers, school principals, and social workers to identify individuals in need. All disbursement decisions are made by a board consisting of no fewer than six members.
Current members of the Minden Foundation board are Andy Pendergrass, Candi Haynes, Jeff Lee, Bailee Hurley, Jason Ogwyn, Zach Goodman, Braley Raborn, Lindsey Cupples, Carlie Day, and Garrett Vaughan.
