The Minden Junior Service League announced its 2025 scholarship recipients, awarding a total of $10,000 to three Webster Parish students pursuing higher education.
The recipients are Peyton Handy, who received $5,000 and will attend Louisiana State University; Zoe Lee, awarded $3,000 and set to attend Louisiana Tech University; and Grant Harrington, who received $2,000 and plans to attend Oklahoma State University.
The scholarships are funded through proceeds from the organization’s annual Girls’ Night Out fundraiser. According to the League, the event has generated $38,000 in scholarship funds over the last three years.
“This event is more than just a night out,” the League stated in a social media post. “It’s a night that opens doors, creates opportunities, and reminds us what’s possible when women come together for a greater cause.”
Peyton Handy expressed appreciation for the scholarship, writing in a comment, “So grateful for this amazing opportunity! Thank you to the entire Minden Junior Service League from the bottom of my heart!”
The Minden JSL extended thanks to event sponsors and attendees, emphasizing their role in supporting local students’ educational goals.
