by Minden Press-Herald

A 25-year-old Minden man was taken into custody after leading police on a pursuit, during which he violated multiple traffic laws and was found to have outstanding warrants.

On October 5, Minden police attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving, but the driver, identified as Chadrick Warren, refused to pull over. The pursuit, initiated by a Minden Police Department officer, escalated as Warren’s vehicle exceeded the posted speed limit of 35 mph, traveled on the opposite side of the road, and ran through three stop signs.

After the vehicle eventually came to a stop, Warren was taken into custody. According to the police report, Warren admitted post-Miranda that he did not stop because he was scared.

A search of Warren’s person revealed approximately four grams of marijuana. During the booking process, officers discovered that Warren had active warrants with the Minden Police Department.

In addition to the bench warrant, Warren faces charges of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor; aggravated flight, a felony; and simple possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
