Dr. Ashla Martin, a board-certified pediatric dentist and founder of Kids@Heart Pediatric Dentistry in Cedar Hill, Texas, has been selected to speak at the 2025 Texas Dental Association (TDA) Meeting—the largest dental gathering in Texas and one of the most prestigious in the nation.
A proud Minden, Louisiana native, Dr. Martin has built her career around making dentistry fun, accessible, and fear-free for children. She is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, an honor awarded to fewer than 5% of dentists worldwide for exceptional leadership, professional excellence, and service to the global community.
Dr. Martin graduated valedictorian from Doyline High School before earning her Bachelor of Science from Xavier University of Louisiana and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. She completed her general practice and pediatric residency at LSU Health Sciences Center and has extended her passion for pediatric oral health through missionary work in Ethiopia and Nicaragua.
At the 2025 TDA Meeting, Dr. Martin will present her signature course, “Tooth Fairy Tales A to Z: Pedo is for Me!”—an inspiring and practical session focused on equipping dental professionals with pediatric techniques such as silver diamine fluoride (SDF), oral habit interventions, and space maintenance strategies.
She is the visionary behind Dentists@Heart, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to mentoring students and connecting them to careers in dentistry through leadership and STEAM education pathways. She is also a proud member of the John Maxwell Certified Team.
