On May 30, the citizens of Minden came together at the Civic Center to congratulate the recently-elected pet candidates from the city’s first-ever Pet Mayor Election. Through the charitable contributions of those that participated in the event as well as the generous sponsors, the event itself raised $21,695 for the local animal shelter. At the event, the mayor also announced that the city would be breaking ground for the new facility in July.
